We use Cookies on this website.
A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your device. It has information in it that allows us to "remember" something as you visit pages on the site - for example whether or not you are logged in. In this document we'll explain why we set cookies, what information they contain and what choices you have as a user of this site.
We've divided this into sections so that you can easily find what you're looking for:
- Essential Cookies
- Non Essential Cookies
- Handle cookies by adjusting your Browser Settings
ESSENTIAL COOKIES
Session Cookies and Shopping Cart
We use session cookies on our site so that we can keep track of your activity during your visit and differentiate you from other visitors. These session cookies do not contain any personal information. We also store the items in your Shopping Cart in a cookie so that you can navigate freely and the site can remember the contents of your Shopping Cart.
Payment Gateway
We process payments using Stripe, which will put two cookies on your device. These are called __stripe_sid and __stripe_mid. Without these cookies, purchases by credit or debit card will not be possible, but blocking these cookies will not affect purchases by cheque.
You can safely delete cookies set by Stripe after completing your purchase.
NON-ESSENTIAL COOKIES
Our website content management system uses several plugins which use session cookies and other non-personal cookies that are used to assist in remembering your browser configuration and other details helpful in presentation and navigation.
We also use Google Analytics on our site which sets tracking cookies to be able to collect anonymous data about our users' visits. This allows us to measure traffic and patterns of pages visited.
You'll recognise Google Analytics cookies as follows:
_ga - set for 2 years. Assigns a randomly generated number to identify each unique visitor throughout their visit on our site. Provides visitor, session and campaign data.
_gid - set for 24 hours. Used to uniquely identify visitors.
_gat - set for 10 minutes Used to throttle the request rate, limiting the collection of data on high traffic sites.
You can find more information on Google's use of cookies here: https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.
Browser Settings and Cookies
Generally speaking, your web browser will enable you to take more control over which cookies are set on your computer and how they are handled. For instance, you can minimise the data collected about your browsing habits by setting your browser to delete cookies whenever you close a page. There are also many browser plugins to help you be aware of which cookies are being set and give you control to pick and choose which ones you allow and which you delete.
